Django 1.5

Upgraded to Django 1.5

Today I upgraded this site to use Django 1.5.

This was a fairly painless process. The one gotcha I encountered was a now mandatory ALLOWED_HOSTS setting which gets checked when DEBUG is not true. Without it you get a 500 error and no diagnostics are logged. See here for the details.

In other news, I am quite enjoying my new job at Digitalis. Of course, they have their own peculiar ways of doing things which I had not encountered before.

Next month, I shall make my annual visit to Rooska to see how my trees and neighbours are getting on. Last year I encountered a fox on my mountain so I am hoping for great things.
