I have redesigned my ahernp.com site to make it more readable.

In recent years, I have become a fan of readability software. This clears the clutter from web pages and leave the main text on a plain background. There are various bookmarklets, Firefox add-ons and hosted services, for example:

• iReader (and for Firefox)
• Readable
• Readability

Readability functionality is also built in to Apple's Safari browser nowadays.

Anyway, it occurred to me that the sites I admire tend to look as though they had already been run through such software. Hence my redesign.

There are now no graphics or images on the site at all (apart from a favicon.ico and the pictures). It is now all about the text content.
